PROJECT DESCRIPTION — In collaboration with designer Tom Dixon, the Søuld Acoustic Mats were repurposed as upholstery in his famous Bird chaise. The chair was exhibited during the 'Tom Dixon Twenty' show in Milan. Tom Dixon wanted to see if Søuld's Acoustic Panels could be used as a substitute to petrochemical-based materials in the iconic Bird rocking chair - a bold sculptural foam providing a simple platform to test the comfort qualities of this promising new use for traditional material.
