PROJECT DESCRIPTION — The new IKEA at Dybbølsbro has opened, featuring a green, publicly accessible rooftop garden. This rooftop includes spaces for a sustainable driven café and restaurant, now leased by the company Do More (DM). DM plans to establish the world’s first "Scandirabian" restaurant and meeting center, blending Middle Eastern cuisine with Scandinavian ingredients, inspired by Carsten Niebuhr from the Danish expedition, Den Arabiske Rejse. The restaurant, offering 100% organic, vegetarian dishes, will provide indoor and outdoor dining, take-away options, and conference room rentals with catering.
The construction contractor, Logic & Co., a Copenhagen-based company specializing in renovations and refurbishments, has expertly brought this vision to life. Known for their focus on reuse, recycling, and preservation, Logic & Co. integrates biogenic materials and socially responsible practices with high-quality craftsmanship. Søuld's high-quality acoustic products have been chosen for the rooftop restaurant, ensuring a comfortable and inviting atmosphere for all guests. The acoustic panels effectively reduce noise levels, enhancing the dining experience. Søuld is committed to providing eco-friendly solutions that enhance modern interiors, highlighting a dedication to creating spaces where people can gather, dine, and relax in comfort.
Additionally, all the cutting waste generated during construction has been shipped back to Søuld, where it is being recycled into new eelgrass products, further demonstrating their commitment to sustainability throughout the project lifecycle. This addition emphasizes how Søuld contributes to sustainability not only through their product choices but also by actively recycling construction waste, aligning with the eco-friendly ethos of the project.
